Introduction to NRC
The Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) is one of the research centers of IUMS approved in 2016 by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. At the present, NRC operates under the supervision of Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology of IUMS. The NRC provides laboratory facilities to promote research in all neuroscience fields.
It also serves other research centers and university departments by admitting postgraduate students at the level of MSc and PhD and offers special services to these centers.
 
LOCATION AND FACILITIES
NRC is located in the main IUMS campus on the first and second floor of the Pardis Building, Faculty of Allied Medicine. NRC has its own independent laboratories, facilities and units and has access to the adjacent university facilities in the Faculty of Allied Medicine, Basic Medical Sciences Center & Central Library of University.
 
Strategy and Goals of NRC
1- Promoting the knowledge of students, fellowships, and specialists, in the field of neuroscience research.
2- Promoting and developing relevant medical and non-medical research in neuroscience
3- Improving the health of the society through basic research in neuroscience.
4- Assisting in planning educational research and treatment programs based upon the country’s health policies.
5- Expanding communications with domestic and international research centers in order to exchange and update knowledge.
6- To educate researchers in the field of neuroscience.
7- Improving educational courses in the field of neuroscience via workshops and relevant discussion groups and classes.
The Vision of NRC
 
- NRC intendeds to locate among five best national neuroscience research centers in country within 5 years after and during definite approval.
 
The missions of NRC
Carrying out practical and basic research in order to improve the present methods of research, develop and utilize new techniques in the field of neuroscience research.
Providing the best facilities in order to absorb more students seeking a career in research in the field of neuroscience.
Cooperation with other research centers for performing national, regional and international research projects.
Issuing and publishing the reports of NRC in the form of articles, bulletins and booklets.
Raising funds with the help of government and non-governmental organization, in order to reach the goals of the center.   
Educational planning in order to train assistants and fellows according to the guidelines and needs of Ministry of Health and Medical Education in the field of Neuroscience.
